Monishver Chandrasekaran
Hello there, and welcome!

At Bull Hill Full Loop, Cold Spring, NY
A quick intro: I’m a graduate student at NYU’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, pursuing Computer Science with a focus on machine learning. Before this, I spent two years as a Data Engineer at IBM, where I honed my skills in handling data and building pipelines. Now, I’m channeling my passion for problem-solving and curiosity about AI into becoming a Machine Learning Engineer/Researcher. This blog is my space to document that journey—sharing lessons, insights, and reflections along the way.
Why this blog?
-
Building Strong Foundations
: Machine learning is a vast field, and I believe in learning from first principles. This blog is a way to solidify my understanding while making these concepts accessible to others. -
Tracking Progress
: Writing helps me reflect on challenges and measure how far I’ve come, serving as a reminder that growth is incremental. -
Simplifying Complexity
: I enjoy breaking down intricate topics into clear and intuitive ideas. If something here makes ML a little easier for you, I’ve done my job! -
Fostering Connections
: The field of ML thrives on collaboration. Through this blog, I hope to connect with like-minded learners and professionals.

On a more personal note, I value curiosity, meaningful work, and connecting with others. Outside academia, you might find me thinking about philosophy and life, sometimes at sports—I’m an avid tennis player—and at times exploring my artistic side through digital and physical mediums. Feel free to check out my creations on Instagram: @knotted.arts.
I believe learning is a lifelong journey, and this blog reflects that view. While I’m still early in my path, I hope my experiences, struggles, and successes can inspire others navigating similar challenges. Whether you’re a fellow student, a professional transitioning into machine learning, or simply curious about the field, I hope you find something valuable here.
This journey isn’t just about reaching a destination; it’s about embracing the process of growth and discovery. If any of this resonates with you, feel free to connect—I’d love to hear your story and learn together.
Here’s to tackling challenges, building meaningful relationships, and making small but steady progress toward big goals.
Best wishes and see you around!
